Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University was the former name of Lviv National Medical University. The university is one of the oldest medical universities of Ukraine. The university started functioning in the year 16th November, 1784.There was a re-arrangement of faculties in the year, 1939.The iv level accreditation as a higher education was established and is by the decision of the cabinet ministers of Ukraine.
At present, the university has 78 departments, faculties, 14 educational buildings, medical colleges, educational industrial pharmacy, training simulation center, a dental medical center, Central Laboratory of Medicine and Laboratory of Industrial Toxicology, Research Center for Antitumor Assays, Scientific Library and so on.
