DA Pandu Memorial RV Dental College is one of the premier dental institutes in India. Established in 1992 as RV Dental College it was renamed in honour of its former Hon. Secretary ,the late Sri. D A Pandu. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and is recognized by Dental Council of India .It has received the prestigious NAAC A grade. From The Principal’s Desk, At the outset I would like to thank you on behalf of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust and D A Pandu Memorial R V Dental College & Hospital for the interest shown by you in our institution. Over the last two decades since its inception in 1992, our institute has shown steady progress and is now considered as one of the leading and most sought after private dental colleges in our country. This is reflected by the NAAC ‘A’ grade accreditation that the college has received and also by being the college of choice for most highly ranked NEET students. Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust was founded in 1940 and now runs 26 educational institutions catering to a wide range of societal needs in the field of education. D A Pandu Memorial R V Dental College & Hospital is among very few dental colleges in the country that provides almost all of the streams of dental education under one roof. A student of this college has wide range of opportunity of getting mentored and guided to achieve Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree right to applying research skills for obtaining a Doctorate of Philosophy in Dentistry. The college also offers a range short term certificates courses in specific aspects of dentistry like esthetic dentistry and implantology to hone the skills of the students. The consistent academic excellence of the students through the training imparted is reflected every year in the list of University Ranks that the students achieve.
Research
The Research Sustenance & Institutional Review Board Committee constantly encourages research activities among both faculty and students. Research is in the form of short-term & long-term research projects, funded research, main dissertations and thesis. UG research is an institutional distinctiveness. These research projects are translated into publications and presentations. Many presentations have won awards at state, national and international levels. Funding for research activities is allocated in the annual research budget as a part of internal funding, while external grants from apex bodies are also facilitated. Research collaborations have been established with reputed research centers to widen the areas of research. The Institutional Review Board oversees all the research activities of the institution and takes responsibility for ethical clearance. “Research culture” is promoted through financial and infrastructural support.
Alumni
RV Dental College Alumni Association is a registered body at the Registrar of Societies, Government of Karnataka. It was conceptualised under the leadership of the chief patron Dr K S Nagesh during year 2003 and officially registered on 28th Februaury 2020 under the Karnataka Society Act. Membership is open to all BDS, MDS, PhD, Diploma and certificate course students who have passed out from our esteemed institution. A strong alumnus committee has been supporting the activities of the college and has always been helping the institution by sharing its rich experience and providing timely feedback.
