About Us
Established in 1965 as Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College, JNTUH underwent a significant evolution before becoming the esteemed institution it is today. Originally conceived as a college, it later transformed into a full-fledged Technological University in 1972, earning recognition as Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, paying homage to India's first Prime Minister. Nestled in the vibrant city of Hyderabad, its sprawling main campus in Kukatpally stands as a testament to its commitment to excellence. . Over time, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has established itself as a pivotal institution in the realms of technological education and research, extending its influence not only within Telangana but throughout India. Alumni
Established on January 5, 2023, the Directorate of University Alumni Affairs, JNTUH was born out of a vision to create a lasting bond between the university and its ever-growing alumni community. Registered as a not-for-profit company under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, the Directorate serves as a vibrant platform that celebrates the achievements of its alumni while channelling their passion and expertise toward the university’s continuous progress. It is more than a bridge—it's a thriving network of ideas, mentorship, and opportunity. The Directorate serves as a vital bridge between the “Alma Mater” and its alumni, fostering meaningful relationships that contribute to mutual growth and development. It aims to build a dynamic alumni network that supports student success and institutional advancement through both financial and non-financial contributions. By organizing alumni connect initiatives and development programs, it facilitates engagement between alumni, current students, faculty, and university administration. With a strong sense of commitment and shared pride, the Directorate promotes the values and legacy of JNTUH, creating a social, informed, and empowering environment for all stakeholders. It continues to work selflessly towards the holistic development of the university by supporting infrastructure, human resource initiatives, and other institutional needs through active alumni participation. The Directorate of Alumni Affairs plays a pivotal role in building and maintaining lasting relationships between JNTU Hyderabad, its constituent and university colleges, and its global alumni network. It oversees and coordinates efforts across alumni associations and international chapters to ensure streamlined communication, transparency, and effective engagement. The Directorate facilitates alumni events, supports digital infrastructure for alumni management, ensures proper registration of alumni, and guides the formation of independent associations with standardized by-laws.
