Kharkiv National Medical University
KNMU (Kharkiv National Medical University), formerly known as Kharkiv Medical Institute and also Kharkiv State Medical University, is a centuries old medical university in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Kharkiv National Medical University, founded in 1805, is one of the oldest and top-rated medical institutes of Ukraine. KNMU ranks 560 out of 11,000 universities worldwide.
It is recognized and listed by the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). This accreditation helps KNMU graduates be eligible to take United States Medical Licensing Examinations and do Postgraduate Medical (Residency) training in the US. IMED accreditation is also recognized by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), MCC (The Medical Council of Canada), WHO (World Health Organization), Medical Council of India (MCI), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, European Council of Medicine and General Medical Council (limited Registration) of UK.

Kharkiv National Medical University (KNMU) offers bachelor's and master's courses in medicine, dentistry, nursing, and pharmacy. The medium of instruction is English, Russian, and Ukrainian. MBBS degree is 5.8 years (4.8 years + 1 internship). The practical training starts from the third year, and students get job training at municipal hospitals in Kharkiv city. The university has modern diagnostic, laboratories, and medical equipment. The popular specializations are surgery, ophthalmology, urology, traumatology and orthopedics, obstetrics, and gynecology.
It is easier for Kharkiv National Medical University admission and other Ukraine medical universities compared to other foreign countries. There is no need to pass exams like TOEFL, IELTS, or any English proficiency exams. The candidate must have completed 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year. The candidate should have taken science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in +2 and passed with 50% percent marks. The Indian candidate must have passed the NEET exam. The NEET score required for MBBS admission in Ukraine is 147 marks for the open category and 113 for reserved category candidates.
The course fees for MBBS come around $4,800 annually, and hostel fees vary between $700-$1500 per year.
