Merit Cum Means Scholarship is implemented by the National Scholarship Portal
The scholarship is awarded to all minority students based on achieving merit marks. It is authorized by the ministry of minority affairs for poor students interested in higher studies from the top universities to study professional and technical courses in minority communities. The students can get scholarship for studying undergraduate and postgraduate courses by the Government of India. Students are eligible to adhere this scholarship should be pass the final previous examination not less than 50% of marks or equivalent score and the parents/guardians must have annual income all together should not exceed more than 2.50 Lakh. It is said that muslims, sikhs, christians, buddhists, jain, zoroastrians (Parsis) are considered by the national commission as minority communities.
Scholarship is awarded to each individual as entire academic year or course. The students who live in a hostel or for dayscholar are given fixed lump sum yearly as 10000/- and 5000/- respectively.
The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is implemented by the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) that os maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). Hence the NIC shall announce the detailed year wise scholarship details of each students in the portal.
