NTA Press Release - Resumption of two sessions of JEE (Main) is from 20th July 2021
The covid-19 pandemic has made the entire world inefficient and helpless and there is a drastic drop in activity in all the sectors. The education sector has been adversely affected by the pandemic and important examinations like NTA JEE Mains and NEET have had to be postponed.
In the wake of surging cases of the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Testing Agency has announced the resumption of the remaining two sessions of the JEE (Main) from 20 July 2021.Meanwhile, the number of examination centers in every shift will be increased from 660 to 828.The latest guidelines and protocols will be followed by the candidates in the examination halls. Moreover, the following measures will be taken by the National Testing Agency such as,
- Candidates could be allowed to change their option of center city.
- There will a provision of facemasks to all candidates.
- All the tools including computer systems and furniture will be sanitized prior and after and computers used in one shift will not be used in the next.
- The students will be given staggered time slots so that crowds could be avoided.
- The contactless registration procedure will be followed.
- Social distancing while writing the examination and after will be maintained
- Proper air circulation with the means of fans and windows will be ensured.
Previously, the number of candidates for the April session was 6.80 lakhs and for May it was 6.09 lakhs.The request from the candidates to re-open the Online Application window for JEE (Main) -2021 April session, has been decided to give another opportunity to apply for the remaining JEE (Main) 2021 Sessions in the month of April and May.
With the successful conduction of the examination with the highest professional standards, NTA requested the cooperation of all stakeholders for the easy conduct of the exam. NTA also announced that further detailed notification about timelines for online application and exam details will be informed later.
