Pre Matric and Post Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

The Pre Matric scholarship is announced for students who undergo any disabilities and is authorised with a certificate shall get this scholarship which the government of India awards. The scholarships are open for the nationals of India only. The students with specific disabilities are said to award this scholarship. It can be categorised as Blindness, Low-vision, Leprosy-cured person, Hearing impairment, Locomotor Disability, Intellectual Disability, Mental Illness, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Chronic Neurological Conditions, Specific Learning disabilities, Multiple Sclerosis, Speech and Language Disability, thalassemia, Hemophilia, Sickle cell disease, Multiple disabilities including deaf and blindness, Acid attack victim, Parkinson’s disease, Dwarfism.

 Students not more than two in a family is subjected to get this scholarship under this scheme. But in the same family, if the second child is twins, they are provided to get the scholarship under the plan. The students can get scholarships every academic year, but if, in any case, they fail in any year, they are not eligible to get the scholarship continuously.

Students with disabilities after their studies to prepare for their livelihood and to find a dignified place for themselves in the society as they face any physical barrier or financial assistance the Government of India shall enable them a facility to survive in front of the community by earning this scholarship which is named as Post-matric scholarship for disabilities.  

Scholarships under this scheme shall be available for award in classes XI, XII, Post-Matriculation, Diploma certificates and Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in India, and Masters degree/ diploma from any universities recognised by UGC/AICTE. Scholarships are not allowed for any training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Course or Private Pilot License courses.
