Study B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology in Karnataka
The Bachelor of Science - Medical Laboratory Technology teaches candidates to examine and analyze body fluids, stools, tissues, and cells from healthy and sick patients. They use technologically advanced microscopes and sophisticated laboratory equipment. They look for the presence of bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms. They also analyze the chemical contents of body fluids, including blood, and match blood for transfusions. They also check body fluids to understand the effectiveness of the various treatment. The laboratory professionals also look out for abnormal cells and tissues in blood and body fluids which can trace to many diseases. After arriving at a conclusion, they submit the report to the doctor and patient care team. The report plays a crucial role in helping the doctor to identify the issue and start the correct treatment.
Eligibility:
The applicant must have passed plus two or equivalent approved by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The applicant should have studied English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology as the main subjects.
The lateral entry candidates to the second year for allied health science courses should have passed the diploma program from the Government Boards and recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. They are eligible to take admission on the lateral entry system only in the same subject studied at the diploma level from the academic year 2008-2009.
