Supreme Court to Dismiss PIL Regarding the Cancellation of Offline Board Exams
Feb 26, 2022
The Supreme Court dismisses a Public Interest Litigation regarding the cancellation of offline examinations for class 10 and 12 conducted by state boards, ICSE and CBSE. The court observes the act as “ill-advised and premature” because the authorities are yet to take decision regarding the conduct of examinations. The aggrieved students can challenge the decision of the bodies regarding exams if they are against the relevant rules the court added.
The CBSE has conducted first term exam in offline mode in December 2021 in Multiple Choice Objective type and the results are not published yet. As per the court, such petitions give false hopes to students and it also raises confusion in system.
