About Us
A group of eminent visionaries hailing from different socio economic and cultural environment including specially trained and experienced professionals in the field of special education joined together, by taking in to consideration this as their self responsibility, at CIG complex Calicut to do certain awareness programs for the disabled.The first awareness camp for the Hearing Impaired was conducted at MSS auditorium in the year 2004.Then frequent awareness classes, leadership training, motivation camps were also conducted at CIG complex, Ram Mohan Road Calicut.The researches and studies conducted by this group later realized the fact that mere awareness camps will not be sufficient to make them dignified citizens. This thought lead to the formation of Ability Foundation for the Disabled.State wise summits of Hearing Impaired were conducted at Calicut, Panamaram (Waynad, Kottakkal (Malappuram) and Trissur. National seminar was held at Jayanthi auditorium, Calicut.Ability foundation for the Disabled registered under societies registration act on 13/8/2009 vide no. 228/09. Mr. Ahammadkutty Karuthedath (Chairman) Mr.NM Abdul Jaleel (vice Chairman), Mr Basheer Ahammed (Secretary) Mr. IP. Abdussalam (Treasurer) were the first office bearers. Dr.Hussain Madavoor, C.P Umer Sullami and Mujeebu Rahman Kinalur were selected as its Patrons.
