The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is established in the year 1986. It was earlier affiliated to the Mysore University later to the Kuvempu University and at present, it is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgavi. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty with a reputation in their area of specialization. The department conducts seminars, workshops, conferences, and training programs every year for the benefit of students and staff.
BE in Computer Science & Engineering is an undergraduate program. Computer science and engineering are now cornerstones of the information society. This course is designed to enable learners for industry, academia, and public service, providing technical leadership by solving significant problems across a broad spectrum. The course is cross-disciplinary, allowing students to learn the language specificities of computer science, explore programming or modelling and design, and all of the other core aspects of the subject, whilst being also trained in industrial ethics and engaging in industry-inspired lab sessions.

- Students who have passed PUC/10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Biotechnology / Biology, with at least 45% of marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category as per Government order) in the above subjects taken together.
- Lateral Entry to Second Year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.): passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution, with at least 45% marks in the final year examination(fifth and sixth semester)(40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.
- For admission under management quota, students should compulsory appeared in CET/COMEDK/JEE or any other entrance test for professional program.
