The department was started in the year 1999-2000 with an intake of 60. Department comprises of highly qualified and experienced teaching staff and research scholars. Department is performing well by securing VTU ranks in academics. Department regularly conducting the technical talk, seminars, short term courses, hands-on training, workshops for students and faculty to bridge the technical gap between educational institutions and industries.
B.E. Information Science and Engineering is an Under-Graduation course.Information science focuses on understanding problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved and then applying information and other technologies as needed. In other words, it tackles systemic problems first rather than individual pieces of technology within that system.It also throws light on how to analyse and interpret the raw data. It is an academic field which is primarily concerned with analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval, movement, dissemination, and protection of information.
Duration: 4 yearsEligibility
- Students who have passed PUC/10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Biotechnology / Biology, with at least 45% of marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category as per Government order) in the above subjects taken together.
- Lateral Entry to Second Year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.): passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution, with at least 45% marks in the final year examination(fifth and sixth semester)(40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.
- For admission under management quota, students should compulsory appeared in CET/COMEDK/JEE or any other entrance test for professional program.
