Course
Pharm.D course is a Professional Pharmacy doctoral programme. Pharm. D. is the art and science of preparing and dispensing medicines. The course has been designed to train eligible candidates in clinical pharmacy, pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical care. Upon successful completion of the course, students gain skills in diagnosis and treatment of diseases, selection and therapeutic usage of drugs, monitoring of patients, etc..
Eligibility
The basic eligibility criterion to apply for the course is a 10 + 2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized board and a qualified diploma in Pharmacy from any Pharm. D. College recognized by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)
Duration
Pharm.D course
is a Professional Pharmacy doctoral programme of 6 yrs duration
after 10+2 (science academic stream) which includes 5yrs of academic study
+ 1 year of internship or residency.
Higher Studies
Master's degree programme in pharmacy (M.Pharm.) shall be a main stream higher study option for graduates in pharmacy. Specializations are pharmacology, quality assurance, hospital pharmacy, pharmaceutics, clinical research, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutical management and herbal drug technology. The AICTE has introduced Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) for admission to M.Pharm. course.
