B.E. Civil Engineering is an undergraduate engineering course.Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.
Civil engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields. Civil engineering focuses on the infrastructure of the world which include Water works, Sewers, Dams, Power Plants, Transmission Towers/Lines, Railroads, Highways, Bridges, Tunnels, Irrigation Canals, River Navigation, Shipping Canals, Traffic Control, Mass Transit, Airport Runways, Terminals, Industrial Plant Buildings, Skyscrapers, etc. Among the important subdivisions of the field are construction engineering, irrigation engineering, transportation engineering, soils and foundation engineering, geodetic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and coastal and ocean engineering.
The Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in AIET was started in the academic year 2009 – 10 with an intake of 60 students. The department offers a full time B.E degree course in Civil Engineering. Our department organizes seminars, workshops & Industrial visits for the benefit of students and faculty which would bring exposure of the recent trend in civil engineering. Students involve in the consultancy projects obtained through various govt. and non-govt. agencies.
The infrastructure available in the department facilitates students to develop their skill and knowledge within the framework of curriculum prescribed by the Visvesvaraya Technological University.
Eligibility
Candidates have to pass their 10+2 examinations or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. with 55% of marks to be eligible for this course.
