Course
B.E. Information Science and Engineering is an Under-Graduation course.Information science focuses on understanding problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved and then applying information and other technologies as needed. In other words, it tackles systemic problems first rather than individual pieces of technology within that system.It also throws light on how to analyse and interpret the raw data. It is an academic field which is primarily concerned with analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval, movement, dissemination, and protection of information.
The Department was started in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 for the undergraduate program. The course has become popular among students due to the achievements and rigor. The department has well qualified, experienced and committed faculty to provide quality industry tuned education to the students. The faculty members regularly participate in Workshops, Faculty development programs and Seminars to keep themselves updated with the cutting-edge technologies. Faculty members prolifically publish research papers in renowned journals and conferences Department has well equipped laboratories housing state of the art equipments including computer systems with latest configurations, which are completely networked and latest software’s for applications and development areas. The department is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed in 10+2 Examination are eligible with 45% marks in aggregate with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology, are eligible.
