M.ch in Genito-Urinary Surgery is a super specialty program which is offered by the Andhra Medical College Visakhapatnam and recognized by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Vijayawada. M.Ch (Magister Chirurgiae) is a Latin term especially for General Surgery. Medical aspirants can do this program only by completing MBBS or MS/DNB from any recognized university under the Medical Council of India. Genitourinary Surgery is a course that focuses on the problems related to urinary tracts of males and females and also on the reproductive system of males. The Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences covers a syllabus that includes topics such as Anatomy and Embryology of GU tracts, adrenal & retroperitoneum, Applied physiology and biochemistry about Urology, Nephrology, renal transplantation and renovascular hypertension, Investigative urology & Genito-urinary radiology and imaging including nuclear medicine, Male Infertility, Andrology, and Urological endocrinology, Sexual dysfunction- investigations and management, Perioperative care, management of urological complications and care of the critically ill patients, Urodynamics and Neurology, Genito-urinary trauma, Urolithiasis-Medical, Biochemical & Surgical aspects, Uro-oncology-Adult & Paediatric, Reconstructive Urology, Paediatric Urology-congenital malformations and acquired diseases, Urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases and so on. There are lot of scopes after completing this program such as they can be Associate Professor/ Lecturer, attending consultant, Consultant Physician, urologist, urology technician, researcher, and consultant microbiologist.
