Electronics and Communications Engineering is one of the most popular branches of engineering which involves researching, designing, developing, testing and maintaining of electronic equipment. Electronics and Communication Engineers also supervise the assembling and manufacturing of communication and broadcast systems. The field of Electronics and Communications Engineering has its foundations in three major technical areas: Mathematics: Information, Networks and Systems, Physics: Circuits, Semiconductor Devices & Optical Systems, and Computers: Microprocessors and Computing devicesThe Electronics and Communication Engineering program was started in the year 2009 to produce graduates with strong fundamentals in electronics and communication domain. The course is an outcome based structured to help students to achieve the goals. The department has maintained swiftness with the cutting edge technology through well-equipped laboratories, tie ups with industries and research groups (such as Texas instruments and Ed-gate Technologies). It has good infrastructure and is well equipped with full-fledged laboratories. It has dedicated and qualified faculty members to ensure high standard of teaching – learning and evaluation processes. The faculty members have experience in teaching and as well as industries. The department has made a name for itself, among the top colleges, at the University level, through its performance in the examinations, placements, seminars, conferences and industry interactions. Department does not only focus on Engineering the Engineers in technicality but also engages and support them through technical and non-technical association activities. Eligibility
- Candidates who have Passed in Second PUC/ 12th standard
Passed in Second PUC/12th standard/Equivalent examination with English as one of the Languages and obtained a minimum of 45 % of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ BioTechnology/ Biology/ Electronics/ Computer. 40 % for SC, ST, Category – 1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates.
Those students, who have passed a qualifying examination other than the PUC II examination of the Pre-University Education Board of Karnataka, have to obtain eligibility certificate for seeking admission to BE/B.Tech Degree Programme from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi.
- Candidates who have Passed 3 year Diploma
A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45 % marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and Sixth semester) diploma examination (qualified examination) is eligible for admission to BE/B.TechProgrammes, and 40 % of marks in qualified examination in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.
Those candidates who have completed Diploma from other than Karnataka state shall provide the Equivalence/ Eligibility Certificate issued from the Director of Technical Education, Karnataka.
