Anna University Chennai offers M.E Environmental Engineering, a two-year PG study in environmental engineering for those who have pursued a degree in BTech from a recognized university. The prerequisite for admission to the course is to pass an entrance test, and selection is on the obtained on the of the score acquired in the entrance examination. Environmental engineering deals with the advanced study of the environment and ecological improvements. The program provides the students with sound knowledge in environmental engineering by introducing them to environmental engineering, environmental microbiology, environmental chemistry and more.Anna University curriculum includes topics such as Air and Noise Pollution, Process Chemistry for Water and Wastewater Treatment, Physio-Chemical Processes in Environmental Engineering, Project and Thesis Phase I, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management, Elective II, Project and Thesis Phase II, Seminar and more. The graduates could work in toxicmaterials control plants, solid waste disposal plants, hazardous waste management plants, public health centres, universities, design and construction landfills, geo-environmental engineering centres, colleges, air pollution control boards, media, land management boards, wastewater management boards and many others. The graduates are employed as Lecturer, Professor, Environmental Officer, Health and Safety Administrator, Assistant Professor, Journalist, Content Developer, Content Writer, Project Assistant, Project Associate, Teacher, Technical Test Engineer, Environmental Specialist, Bio-Research Assistant and many others.
