Course
A B.Sc.+B.Ed. dual degree helps you develop deep and thorough disciplinary knowledge in science as well as a practical and professional degree in education. This programme prepares you to gain deep disciplinary knowledge in the Sciences as well as a practical and professional degree in Education. We emphasise active and participative learning. As part of your study time, you will participate in discussions, research projects and field visits and enjoy the vibrant culture of our campus life.
Our science programme helps you build a deep understanding of the natural world and how human endeavours to understand it have shaped the way in which we live. We believe in experiential learning. You will spend a lot of time with experiments and out in the field.
For the Science Major, the students can choose either :
- Life Sciences – with courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics;
- Physical Sciences – with courses in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry;
- Mathematics – Courses in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
Our programme will prepare you to understand a wide range of perspectives on education. With the Azim Premji Foundation and its vast network of schools, you will practice the craft of science education in different contexts.
For the Education Major, students would develop :
- Educational judgement through perspective courses.
- Skills to teach effectively through courses in curriculum and pedagogy.
- A thorough grounding in school practice.
Duration
A 4-year, full-time, residential, dual-degree programme that awards a B.Sc. B.Ed. Degree.
Eligibility
- You have previously completed Class 12 board exams in any Indian board or equivalent international certificate.
- You will complete your Class 12 by July 2019.
- You have a score of 50%. (If you are above 19 years of age, send us a Statement of Purpose).
- We believe that nobody should be denied admissions because of financial constraints.
- We provide extensive need-based scholarships.
