Course

Diploma In General Nursing And Midwifery (GNM) Is A Three-Year Programme Aimed To Prepare Students To Work Effectively As Members Of The Health Team. This Job-Oriented Programme Comprises Subjects Like Nursing Fundamentals Anatomy & Physiology Psychology Biology Sociology And First Aid.The Programme Trains Students To Closely Assess The Nursing Need Of The Patients Monitor The Condition Of Patients Provide Effective Nursing Care And Assist The Doctors In Surgical Procedures. The Students Learn To Set Up Medical Equipment In Operation Theaters And Adeptly Handle Patients During Emergency Situations.

The Aspirants Are Additionally Trained To Be Job-Ready By Imbibing Computer And Interpersonal Skills Which Help Them In Advancing Their Role. After Successful Completion Of The Programme The Students Are Enrolled For An Internship That Enables Them To Directly Gain Hands-On Experience In Esteemed Organizations. Through A Culture Of Patient-First The Students Are Encouraged To Possess Unique Qualities Of Character And Spirit.

Examination Guidelines

  •   Shall Have One Regular Examination Followed By Supplementary Examination In A Year.
  •  If A Candidate Fail They Can Be Promoted To Next Year
  •  A Candidate Can Take Any Number Of Attempts With A Condition That Maximum Period Allowed Is 6  Years. However All Previous Papers Need To Be Cleared Before Appearing In The Final Examination
  •  No Institution Shall Submit Student Average Internal Marks More Than 75% I.E., If 40 Students Are Admitted In A Course Than The Average Score Of The 40 Students Shall Not   Exceed 75 Example Of 5 Students: A=25, B=20, C=22, D=21, E=24 Average This Will Not Be Accepted By The State Nursing Registration Council
  •  Minimum Pass Marks Should Be 50% In Each Of The Theory And Practical Paper Separately.
  • Minimum Pass Marks Shall Be 40% For English Only.
  • Theory And Practical Exams For Introduction To Computer To Be Conducted As School Exam And Marks To Be Send To The SNRC/ Board For Inclusion In The Mark Sheet.
  • A Candidate Has To Pass In Theory And Practical Exam Separately In Each Of The Paper.
  •  If A Candidate Fails In Either Theory Or Practical Paper He/She Has To Re-Appear For Both The Papers (Theory And Practical)
  •  Maximum Number Of Candidates For Practical Examination Should Not Exceed 20 Per Day
  •  All Practical Examination Must Be Held In The Respective Clinical Areas.
  • One Internal And One External Examiners Should Jointly Conduct Practical Examination For Each Students.

Eligibility

  • 10+2 With English Having 40% Of Marks In Vocational ANM Course From The School Recognized By Indian Nursing Council.
  • 10 +2 With English Having 40% Of Marks In Vocational Stream-Health Care Science From A Recognized CBSE Board/State/Center Registered ANM With Pass Mark.
