Master of Technology (M.Tech) Earthquake Engineering
M.Tech. Earthquake Engineering
Course
M.Tech in Earthquake Engineering is a postgraduate course. Earthquake engineering is essentially about the analysis and design of load- supporting structures. Earthquake engineering is an offshoot of civil engineering. Subjects studied in this course include Construction Management Processes, Soil Mechanics, Concrete Technology, Applied Construction Project Management and Geology etc.
Earthquake Engineering is the field of science that involves the study of the protection of society and natural and human-made atmosphere from earthquakes by reducing seismic risk to socio-economically acceptable levels. Traditionally, earthquake engineering has been defined as the science of bolstering structures to withstand seismic impacts, which is why it is considered a subset of geotechnical and structural engineering.Earthquake Engineering is a systematic study of earthquakes. It is an investigation of and attempt at resolving the danger posed by damaging earthquakes. These engineers plan, design, construct and manage earthquake- resistant structures and facilities.
