Course
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering is not only a technical subject, but is also an analytical area of study and any good course equips its students with not only with the technical ability necessary to excel in this course but also with the ability to apply abstract concepts in real world usage. The field requires a great degree of innovation and out of the box thinking and is concerned with the adopting of new approaches to already existing problems. Professionals in this field are often required to work with various other persons through the course of their career and thus being adaptable to different work environments and being able to communicate effectively with different persons is also of paramount importance.n Mechanical Engineering is a doctorate level degree. The course is focussed entirely on Mechanical Engineering and is a research based course that delves further into this specific field of study.
Eligibility
- The candidates shall possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent from the VTU or any other University recognised by it, with a minimum CGPA of 6.75 out of 10 or First class at either the Bachelor’s or the Master’s Degree in Engineering & Technology discipline.
- The candidates pursuing M. Tech. Degree at the University who have successfully completed the prescribed coursework in the first three semesters of study with outstanding merit of either a minimum CGPA of 7.75 out of 10 or 70 % aggregate marks and demonstrated good research aptitude shall be eligible for up-gradation to M. Tech. + Ph.D. Integrated Dual Degree Programme, subject to approval by the Admissions Committee.
