Course
The Department of Civil Engineering established in the year 2009 with an initial intake of 60 and later enhanced to 120 in the year 2014-15. The department is equipped with well-established laboratories and classrooms with highly qualified faculty. The FCE of the department is active & vibrant platform by conducting academic activities viz., Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Industrial visits and student’s symposium. In addition, the department has Consultancy Cell, offering services for Third Party Inspection and Material Testing to cater the needs of PWD, Municipal authorities, local bodies and Construction Industries. The department also offers the M.Tech course in CAD Structures with an intake of 18.
B.E. Civil Engineering is an undergraduate engineering course.Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.Civil engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields. Civil engineering focuses on the infrastructure of the world which include Water works, Sewers, Dams, Power Plants, Transmission Towers/Lines, Railroads, Highways, Bridges, Tunnels, Irrigation Canals, River Navigation, Shipping Canals, Traffic Control, Mass Transit, Airport Runways, Terminals, Industrial Plant Buildings, Skyscrapers, etc. Among the important subdivisions of the field are construction engineering, irrigation engineering, transportation engineering, soils and foundation engineering, geodetic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and coastal and ocean engineering.

Eligibility
Pass in 10+2/Higher secondary(HS)/Pre-university(PUC)/’A’ Level (with 12 years of schooling) or its equivalent with English as one of the language,shall have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in physics,mathematics and any one of the following i.e Chemistry,Biology,Bio-technology,Computer science,Electronics,Information science.
The candidates who belongs to Karnataka schedule caste,schedule tribe and other backward categories i.e 2A,2B,3A & 3B,the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examinations.
