Course
The department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2009, currently with an intake of 120 students and headed by Dr S N Chandrashekara with an academic experience of more than 20 years also serving as BOE and BOS member for VTU and many other autonomous Institutes . Since its inception the department has seen an exponential growth. The main objective of the department is to provide academic excellence, knowledge and nurture talent in the area of Computer Science.Department has PG Course M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering started in 2012 with an intake 18 affiliated to VTU,approved by AICTE,New Delhi
The Curriculum is aimed to give theoretical and hands on in the areas of Advances in Operating System, Cloud Computing, Advances in Data Base Management System, Multi Core Architecture and Programming, Advances in Storage Area Networks, Managing Big Data, Advances in Computer Networks, Advanced Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence and Agent Technology, Web Services, Machine Learning Techniques, Computer Vision, Business Intelligence and its Applications, Agile Technologies, Wireless Network and Mobile Computing, etc. Students have an opportunity to work in the areas like Big Data and Analytics, Data Mining etc.

Eligibility
Candidates who have acquired BE/B. Tech/AMIE degree in Computer Science
& Engineering / Information Science & Engineering / Electronics
and Communication Engineering/ Telecommunication Engineering/ Electrical
and Electronics Engineering by securing not less than 50% marks in
aggregate are eligible. However in case of candidates belonging to
SC/ST/Group, the aggregate percentage of marks in qualifying examination
should not be less than 45%. The admissions are through central
counselling on the basis of merit in PGCET or GATE. GATE
qualified candidates are eligible for scholarship through AICTE. A few
seats are also available for sponsored and Management candidates.
