Course
B.Voc Agriculture is a Bachelor of Vocation program by Carmel College Mala. B.Voc is multiple entry-exit courses offering diploma after completing the first year (2 semesters), advanced diploma after completing the second year (4 semesters), Degree after completing the third year (6 semesters). The course is specially designed to meet the agriculture industry demand scientifically and technologically with industry-trained students. Carmel College Mala is affiliated to University of Calicut. University of Calicut syllabus consists of English, General Education Components, Skill Components, Soft Skills & Personality Development Programs, which includes Basic Botany and Introduction to Indian Agriculture, Agronomical Principles and Crop, Production Practices (Kharif Season), Farm Machinery & Post Harvesting Technology, English, Communication Skills, Agronomical Principles and Crop Production Practices ( Rabi), Principles of Floriculture & Landscaping & Basic ideas of Agroforestry, Indian Horticulture & Principles of Vegetables, Fruit Crops, Concepts of Soil & Nutrient Management, Principles of Irrigation management, Principles of Agriculture Meteorology, Basic Computing Course, Seed Production Technology, Diagnosis of Crop Health problems, Food Processing & Preservation, Concept of Agroservice & Agriculture Extension, Emerging concepts and practices in Agriculture, Insect and their role in agriculture, Basics of Accounts, Livelihood, Finishing School, Application of Microbiology in Agriculture, Livestock, Poultry & Organic Farming Management, Agro- processing Projects, Credit Planning & Corporate Farming, Internships, and Projects. After the program, students can work in government and private agriculture-related firms, loan sanctioning firms, or independently.
