Course
M.A History is a postgraduate course that accompanies for two years and is imparted with four semesters that occur in Catholicate College Makkankunnu. The practice pertains to the past study and the current interpretations of the past. It includes the stories and narratives of past societies, people,cultures, and events of different nations. Students can study this program after completing their graduation in a specific discipline or relevant field. Catholicate College is affiliated with the Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. The Mahatma Gandhi University shall possess a curriculum with topics such as Aspects of Ancient India,State, and Society in Medieval India, History of Tamil Nadu, State and Society in Medieval India,Modern India, Indian Government, and politics,Interdisciplinary course- History through literature, Modern India, World History, Computer application in Historical Studies, Contemporary Issues in International Relations, Special Course-Research Methodology, Cyber security,Historiography, History of Tamil Nadu, The economic history of India and History of the Cholas/ History of the Guptas. Students can work on different job roles after obtaining this degree and perform as historians, museum curators, archivists, archaeologists, high school teachers,etc., in museums, archaeology departments, academic institutes, etc.
