Course
The BA (Hons) degree is a vibrant and unique undergraduate programme. It aims to provide a rich understanding of theory and practice in specific fields; a strong foundation that will enable students to translate their university experience to the world of work. The programme offers a range of popular optional streams, i.e. English, Psychology, Journalism, Sociology or Economics out of which the student shall choose any three. Special emphasis is laid on the development of critical thinking, analytical, written and oral presentation skills.
- English: The program aims to introduce a wide range of Literatures in English. In the primary phase, Bachelor of Arts course has the aim to offer the opportunity for students to be able to respond and read novels of the large spectrum, play and create poetry with associated genres.
- Psychology: Psychology, in simple terms, is the study of human mind and human behavior. A student of psychology has to study how a human mind works in different situations, how it develops perception, what are the various circumstances and how they affect the development of human behavior.
- Journalism: Journalism is a field full of adventures, new challenges, and excitement. It is an ideal field of study and career for individuals who are extrovert, have a zeal to get to the bottom of a story and are capable of analyzing a story and craft it in words. Journalism is an optimal course for students who desire to pursue a career in mass media. Leading Media houses like the Times Group, HT Media etc. in India hire graduates with a degree in journalism for various roles.
- Sociology: Sociology deals with the intricacies of the social world, psychological aspects of men and women, issues such as racism, how people deal with social status and respect, and other major questions that define life as a human being. In other words, it can be defined as the systematic study of human society, culture, and relationships on a collective level. It also explains how social relationships and cultural understanding shape life chances, experiences, attitudes and actions of individuals and groups.
- Economics: Economics Course Generally Comprising Qualitative And Quantitative Approaches To Social Science. The Course Essentially Involves A Study Of The Main Aspects Related To Improving An Organization’s Overall Profitability Through Different Approaches And Techniques.
Eligibility: Candidates who have passed in 10+2 / PUC or Equivalent
Duration: 3 Years (6 Semesters)
