Course
Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Science is a doctorate level program. Humanities and social science is a stream of study which primarily deals with aspects of human behavior and its effect on society. The course covers the areas of human behavior, psychology, philosophy, criminology, sociology, anthropology and much more. The program envisages to provide the students a well-developed understanding of the social strata systems, sociological theory, and social policy.
Eligibility
- Applicant should have at least earned 55% marks and above in M.A. or any degree equivalent to Humanities and Social Science. (50% in the case of SC/ST candidates)
- Applicants who have completed their Master’s degree in any relevant stream either of Science/Commerce/Engineering/Technology with an aggregate of 60% marks and above can avail for admission.
- Students who have earned an M.Phil. Degree in any specialized field of Humanities and Social Science will be considered for the research program in the subject.
- Clearing the entrance examination such as GATE, NET, MET, ICPR, ICSSR, CSIR, etc. is a prerequisite for admission.
- Some reputed colleges may conduct the sessions of Direct Interview.
- Having a minimum of 2 years of professional work experience is deemed beneficial for admission.
