M.A. English Literature
Course
The MA English Literature programme will introduce students to the linguistic aspects of English language and literature. This programme will make the students aware of the standard usage of language in written and spoken English. The literary content of the programme will enlighten the students about the historical, political and socio-cultural movements that shaped English literature. It will also broaden students’ mental horizon by exposing them to a wide range of cultures and traditions.
The classroom pedagogy is also suitably planned to make the students work independently on the literary texts. The programme also helps one develop research skills and express their views confidently on issues relating to environmental sustenance, communal harmony, benevolent use of technological advancement and preservation of indigenous cultures across the globe.
Eligibility
Candidate must have passed Bachelor degree examination in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/PH students) with English as one of the optional subjects.
