Course
M.Tech (Geotechnical Engineering) is a two-year post-graduate-level engineering program at Cochin University of Science and Technology Ernakulam. The candidate must be B. Tech or BE graduate from a recognized institute. The program teaches Engineers to inspect soil, rocks, bedrocks, design, analysis and construct the foundation and necessary structures, site supervision and project management. Cochin University of Science and Technology curriculum includes classroom training & practical in Operation Research and Methodology, Advanced Soil Mechanics, Disaster Management, Ground Improvement Techniques, Sub- Surface Geophysical methods, Soil Dynamics and Machine Foundation, Design of Road Pavements, Advanced Foundation Engineering, Computer-Aided Design Methods, Applied Soil Mechanics, Seminar, Thesis, Project and Dissertation. The graduates can find employment in both private and government sectors, commercial building construction companies, mining companies, petroleum and natural gas extracting companies, consultancies, PWD, Metro Rail Corporations, municipal corporations, urban planning departments, government port trusts, ONGC, NHAI, Indian Railways, colleges and universities as Geo-Technical Engineer, Process Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Site Engineer,
Project Manager, Research Associate and Educator.
