Course:
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a Diploma Programme. General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course offered by Chengalpattu Medical College, Chengalpattu. General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three & half year diploma course (including six months internship). The course prepares the students to become professionally trained nurses/midwives in the healthcare sector. Candidates should have completed their 12th board exam to apply for this course. Indian Nursing Council will stop the GNM course after the academic year 2020-21 and start a single, entry-level B.Sc nursing course. The curriculum of GNM covers general health care, nursing and midwifery. The candidates are classroom educated and clinically trained in care-taking and nursing the patients. They can pursue their careers in hospitals, clinics, community health care, government or private health as nurses.
Duration: 3 1/2 years
Eligibility:
- Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the higher secondary certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamilnadu State Board / any other equivalent Board with any group of subjects.
- Candidates who have already completed Diploma in Nursing Course are not eligible to apply
