Course:
Master of Science (M.Sc.) Community Health Nursing is a PG Programme offered by College of Nursing, Madras Medical College, Chennai . M.Sc Community Health Nursing is a two-year postgraduate course that specialises in community health care. Licensed nurses/midwives with minimum one-year work experience are eligible for this course. The student must have B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Hons. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Certificate. The curriculum provides in-depth knowledge in the areas of public health and nursing. The syllabus focuses on public policies, theories, principals, demographic characteristics, identifying high-risk groups, partnering with communities, developing culturally-sensitive, acceptable and community-based nursing interventions. The curriculum also covers medical-surgical nursing, paediatric nursing, psychiatric nursing, obstetric & gynaecological nursing, community health nursing, research and statistics. The candidates are hired in areas including public health departments, school systems, faith communities, community organisations, wellness centres etc.

Eligibility:.
The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc.Hons. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with not less than of 55% aggregate marks from an institution that is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
