Course
Bachelor Of Ayurvedic Medicine And Surgery (BAMS) Is A Course That One Can Pursue After Completing Class 12 With Science Subjects. BAMS Is Based On The Traditional Art Of Healing In India; Popularly Known As Ayurveda. Ayurveda Is The A Branch Of Medical Care Which Is Based Upon The Concepts Of Natural Healing Processes Of The Human Body Which Is Further Enhanced By Therapy Of Ayurveda. BAMS Course Is Fast Emerging As A Supplement To Modern Medicine Which Provides A Profound Knowledge Of ‘Ashtanga Ayurveda’ Along With Scientific Advances In Modern Medicine Along With Extensive Practical Training. Central Council For Indian Medicine (CCIM) Is The Statutory Regulatory Body Which Regulates The Ayurveda Education At Degree Level As Well As At Postgraduate Level And The Practice Of Ayurvedic Medicine In India. The Syllabus And Curriculum Of BAMS Is Uniform Throughout The Country And Admission To BAMS Is Conducted Only In Ayurvedic Medical Colleges Affiliated To Universities And Only After Getting Permission From Dept. Of AYUSH, Union Govt. Of India. Admission To BAMS Course Will Be Taken On The Basis Of NEET Score And The Corresponding Rank.
Eligibility
- Candidates are required to pass Class 12 or equivalent examination with science subjects ( Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English core in both Class 11 and 12 from a recognised board.
- Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission.
- Candidates need to secure 50% of marks in their Class 12 Board examination.
- Candidates need to have qualified NEET to get admission in BAMS course.
- For foreign students any other equivalent qualification approved by the University will be allowed
Duration
BAMS Is A Course Which Is Conducted In A Duration Of 5 And A Half Years Duration On Completion Of Which The Student Is Awarded With The Degree Of Ayurvedacharya. The Course Is Carried Out In 4 And A Half Years After Which The Student Is Required To Take Up A Compulsory Internship Of One Year To Earn The Degree. The Undergraduate Course Is Divided Into 3 Separate Sections Of Professional Course Carried Out In 1 Year Each.
The B.A.M.S. Degree course is of 5 years and 6 months duration and consists of the following duration:
- First Year – 12 months.
- Second Year – 12 months.
- Third Year – 12 months.
- Fourth Year – 18 months
- Internship – 12 months.
