Course
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Medical Laboratory Technology is an undergraduate programme offered by Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Medical Laboratory Technology Mangaluru. B. Sc MLT is a three-year degree course started to aid the health care industry. In this course, students learn to test, diagnose and help doctors in solving medical cases. They collect body fluids samples of sick patient and conduct lab tests and helps in diagnosing the medical problem. The applicant must have passed 12th in science stream to apply for this course. They should also possess good analytical and research skills. The syllabus covers subjects like Human Physiology and anatomy, medical biochemistry, medical microbiology, computer application in lab, histopathology, haematology, bacteriology, immunology, mycology and virology. After completing the course and internship, the students can work as a lab technician, lab manager, professor, biochemist, medical phlebotomist etc.
Duration : The duration of the course shall be for a period of Three and Half years including Six months internship
Eligibility : The candidates must have pass Higher Secondary (10+2) from a recognized board
