Master of Science (M.Sc.) Child Health Nursing
Course:
Master of Science (M.Sc.) Child Health Nursing is a PG Programme offered by Ellen College of Nursing Coimbatore. M.Sc. Paediatric Nursing is a two-year postgraduate course focuses on child care, starting from neonatal care to adolescents. Registered nurses or registered midwives with work experience in this field can apply for this course. They should be graduates holding BSc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc nursing certificate. The subjects covered are pre-natal nursing; nursing care for hospitalised child & family; child development, growth & behavioural issues; paediatrics nursing; community paediatrics; assessment and nursing intervention of paediatrics medical/surgical disorder; dealing emergency; nursing challenged child; administration of the pediatric unit and administrating medicines. The competent nurses can pursue roles like asst. nursing superintendent, medical advisor, nursing supervisor, school nurse, educators and researchers.
Duration: 2 years
Eligibility:
- Candidates with basic B.Sc., Nursing/ Post basic B.Sc., Nursing degree of the tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University or any other University accepted as equivalent.
- A Minimum of 55% aggregate marks at the nursing qualification examination.
- One year of the experience in a hospital or college of nursing or school of nursing after procuring provisional registration from the state council.
- Mandatory registration at the tamilnadu nurses and midwives Council.
- Obtaining eligibility certification from the tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University
