Course:
Master of Science (M.Sc.) Medical-Surgical Nursing is a Postgraduate Programme offered by Ellen College of Nursing Coimbatore. M.Sc Medical-Surgical Nursing is a two-year postgraduate course aims at addressing the needs of adult patients in medical and surgical areas. The curriculum gives in-depth knowledge about illness, symptoms and expert ways to cure such health issues. It is one of the largest areas of nursing. The course provides advanced theoretical and practical training in combining the best health care practices for adult patients and helping the patient’s family to adjust to the situation. The course trains the nurses to handle patients hailing from different demographic backgrounds. The course covers advanced subjects including health assessment; adult & ageing; pathophysiology;pharmacology; advanced nursing practice; medical-surgical nursing obstetrical; community health nursing; nursing management and gynaecological nursing & midwifery.
Duration: 2 years
Eligibility:
- Candidates with basic B.Sc., Nursing/ Post basic B.Sc., Nursing degree of the tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University or any other University accepted as equivalent.
- A Minimum of 55% aggregate marks at the nursing qualification examination.
- One year of the experience in a hospital or college of nursing or school of nursing after procuring provisional registration from the state council.
- Mandatory registration at the tamilnadu nurses and midwives Council.
- Obtaining eligibility certification from the tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University
