About Us
Bharathi Education Trust, Bharathinagara is a premier institution of higher learning located in a rural and socially backward sector (as notified by the UGC) situated in Mandya District in Karnataka. It is the dream child of Dr. G. Madegowda a veteran legislator parliamentarian, Gandhian statesman and an educational administrator gifted with foresight and vision. Dr. Madegowda founded the Bharathi Education Trust ® in 1962 with the lofty object of providing higher education to empower rural students in a backward hinterland of Mandya.Dr. G.Madegowda is the founder chairman of the trust and his sincere, unrelenting efforts have led to the establishment of several institutions at Bharathinagara, Hanumanthanagara and Kirugavalu under the auspices of BET. The founder secretary of the trust the late Annur Sri S.Siddegowda had also dedicated himself to the establishment of several institutions run by the trust. The trust consists of 13 Trustees. Now the working president is sri B. Bhasavaraju, Ex-ZP president is Sri Madhu G.Madegowda, Executive Trustee, Secretaries Sri B.M.Nangegowda and Sri Siddegowda along with the other trustees are evincing keen interest under the able guidance of Dr. G. Madegowda for the overall development of the institutions run by the Trust.
