Course
M.Sc. OBG Nursing is a two-year postgraduate course specialising in the reproductive health of a woman right from menstruation to menopause. They help and support women during pregnancy, labour, before and after childbirth. They also assist women with reproductive issues. Some of the subjects learned under this course are human reproduction, pregnancy, normal delivery and nursing management, the role of nurse/midwifery practitioner, average newborn, pharmacy dynamics in obstetrics, family welfare services, infertility, Menopause and Abortion. The course creates competent nurses with specialised skills needed for nursing interventions in the obstetrical and gynaecological area. The course produces confident students who can function as a nurse practitioner, nurse specialist, educator, a researcher in the field of obstetrics nursing. They also assist in oncology wards taking care of reproductive organ cancer patients and even aid women suffering from STD.
