Diploma in physical medicine and rehabilitation is a postgraduate diploma level course offered by the Government Medical College (GMC), Kozhikode. The Kerala University of Health Science consists of a syllabus that includes the subjects like General Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, clinical training, epidemiology,Spinal injury, Research methodology, Physiatry therapy Traumatic brain injury, Post-surgical orthopedic Rehabilitation of post orthopedic condition,Stroke and other Neurological diseases, Clinical training, Pediatric diseases, Rehabilitation of children with brain damage and another disease, Cardio-respiratory disease, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation,Musculoskeletal and Rheumatologic disease, Rehabilitation of endocrine and metabolic diseases, Other rehabilitation,Rehabilitation of geriatric patients. The students can work on different job roles like Physical Therapist Assistant, epidemiological assistant, primary health care attendant, diagnostic and medication in charge, medical officer, etc.
