Course
The course aims to prepare eligible candidates to adequately and productively act as data experts in libraries and data roles.Aspirants have to design and develop information systems, contribute to the discipline of Library and Information science in terms of research and teaching.
MLIS Course teaches students to evaluate situations to determine the best technical solution and effectively utilize technology to add value to the field. They are also familiarized with techniques to assess how changing technologies impact the field.Master of Library and Information Science degree holders have great employment opportunities in Archiving, Cataloging, Computer, data and Information system, Indexing, Research, Information architecture, metadata architecture, preservation administration and conservation, etc. MLIS Students are taught to conduct original research that advances the field’s knowledge base and candidate’s professional knowledge. They have to assess user information needs in order to determine what is needed to improve service in the discipline and also, develop and implement information and instructional services to address specific needs.
Duration : 2 Years
Eligibility : As a minimum criterion of eligibility, aspiring candidates need to have completed graduation in any stream with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
