Course
M.Phil. Statistics course, both the theoretical and applied features of statistics are taught. The work of a statistician is to collect, interpret and verify data. In every field statisticians are required, right from Government offices to sporting international events. M.Phil. is a combination of course work and research training. It also helps in extending competence of the candidates in their chosen discipline.The course provide the quantitative skills and expertise to carry out statistical analyses. The students acquire the necessary skills to undertake applied or theoretical projects. M.Phil. candidates may be able to upgrade to doctoral candidature after 12 months.The program is helpful in improving your quantitative and qualitative skills in various statistical analyses. The subjects on which this program mostly focuses are: research methodology, advanced trends in statistics, data analysis, Laplace distributions, queuing theory, stochastic models and others. A dissertation at the end of the program is a mandatory requirement where your research and presentation skills are well tested.
Duration : 2 Years
Eligibility : The common requirement for pursuing M.Phil.in Statistics course is a pass in Master’s degree in the respective subjects with at least 55% of the aggregate marks from any recognized university.
