B.E. Information Science and Engineering is an Under-Graduation course.Information science focuses on understanding problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved and then applying information and other technologies as needed. In other words, it tackles systemic problems first rather than individual pieces of technology within that system.It also throws light on how to analyse and interpret the raw data. It is an academic field which is primarily concerned with analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval, movement, dissemination, and protection of information.
The branch of ISE, until recently had been perceived as a complementary field of studies to the conventional computer science, but off late, with increasing level of awareness and clarity among the software industrial experts and consequently in the campus recruitments, the demand for ISE among the aspiring software engineering students has witnessed a steady rise, this trend was evident in the KCET seat allotment for the past three years.Eligibility
Candidates who have passed in 10+2 Examination are eligible with 45% marks in aggregate with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology, are eligible.
