BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering is an undergraduate program.The Electronics and Communication Department is affiliated to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).Electronics has brought revolution in modern industries. It is the backbone in miniaturizing the present day tools, gadgets with intelligence to produce highly talented, well-trained engineers. The department was started in the year 1997. The Department is running B.E course with the intake of 60.The Department has at its disposal well equipped labs to provide hands on experience and to realize the practical aspect of theory learned. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members, who have expertise in various areas like VLSI, Embedded systems, Communication Engineering, Optical Fiber Communication, DSP, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics etc. The department has best infrastructure and is continuously upgrading to meet the changing trends in technology and growing strength of students. Department has seven well equipped laboratories with latest hardware and Software technologies. The department has procured the latest State –of the –Art tools for R&D activities.
Electronic engineering (also called electronics and communications engineering) is an electrical engineering discipline which utilizes nonlinear and active electrical components (such as semiconductor devices, especially transistors and diodes) to design electronic circuits, devices, integrated circuits and their systems. The discipline typically also designs passive electrical components, usually based on printed circuit boards.Electronics is a subfield within the wider electrical engineering academic subject but denotes a broad engineering field that covers subfields such as analog electronics, digital electronics, consumer electronics, embedded systems and power electronics. Electronics engineering deals with implementation of applications, principles and algorithms developed within many related fields, for example solid-state physics, radio engineering, telecommunications, control systems, signal processing, systems engineering, computer engineering, instrumentation engineering, electric power control, robotics, and many others.
Eligibility
- Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the four years B. E degree Course should have passed the two years of P.U.C Examinations ( with Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as Optional Subjects) conducted by the Pre - University Board Of Karnataka State or any Other Examination recognized as equivalent by the Visweswaraya Technological University and should have obtained not less than 45% of marks in the optional subjects.
- Candidates seeking admission to Second Year of the Four Year B. E Degree Course must have passed the three year Diploma Course of the Board of Technical Examination of Karnataka Government in the respective Branches / Courses or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visweswaraya Technological University and must have obtained less than 50% marks in the Final Diploma Examinations
- In case of Candidates belonging to SC/ST & Category I/II/III (Karnataka Students Only), the minimum percentage of marks shall not be less than 40% in the optional subjects as per rules.
