M.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
Course
M.Tech. ECE is a post-graduate program requiring two years for completion. This program is generally structured as a research degree at many institutes. Electronics and Communication engineers have to perform the following duties at their workplace.
Designing of process or mechanical equipment, improving the functionality and reliability of mobile devices are some of the skills that are perfected by this course. It includes the study of subjects like image and video processing, advanced digital signal processing and advanced communication engineering. M.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering is a course similar to this one.
Eligibility
Any candidate who has completed bachelorette in engineering or technology with an aggregate score of 50% is eligible to apply for this course. B.E./B.Tech can be completed under any discipline. Almost all of the colleges require the candidate to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The admission criterion is based on the GATE score.
Duration: M.Tech. ECE is a 2-year post-graduate program
Students in the first semester will choose courses worth of least 16 credits, from the following list of courses.
- Digital CMOS VLSI Design (4 Credits)
- Analog CMOS VLSI Design (4 Credits)
- Machine Learning (4 Credits)
- Mathematics for Machine Learning (4 Credits)
- Networking and Communication (4 Credits)
- System Software (2 Credits) *
- System design with FPGA (2 Credits) *
- Principles of Embedded Systems (2 Credits) *
The students will choose 4 elective course in each of second and third semester. The last semester will be Thesis/Internship. Depending on the elective courses students choose, M. Tech (ECE) students have the option to Specialize in one of the following areas,
- VLSI Systems (VLSI)
- Networking and Communication (NC)
- Signal Processing and Pattern Recognition (SP)
