Master of Design (M.Des) Strategic Innovation and Design
In today’s socio-economic ecosystem, and ever-emerging operating platforms, organizations, companies and industries compete based on their internal strength of knowledge and strategy of creative innovations in business, products and service delivery.
The PG Program on Strategic Innovation & Design will equip the students with the knowledge of ‘how to strategize an invention to innovation plan for most optimum impact in a target market or for a to-be-developed market – with two essential tools – that is
- A strategically planned design process
- The process of Business Design
In an interdisciplinary manner to impart the ability of designing business processes and techniques that are integrated with user research, entrepreneurial skill, experimental learning, supported by scientific & holistic understanding.
Duration of Study: 2 Years (4 semesters)
Application of Design Thinking, Communication strategy and enhancement of User Experience are going to be integral
Eligibility
- Candidates must have passed a 4-year Degree Program with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Mechanical Engineering, Computer science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, MBBS or any other relevant stream and should have studied English as a mandatory course.
- Candidates must have secured a rank in CEED conducted by IDC of IIT- Bombay or should have a valid score in JET EXAM conducted by Jain University.
Most IT Companies and a large number of Start-ups who into such kinds of business models would offer such Designers with opportunities mainly in designing the business strategy of new products and processes, Business process redesign – basically, to carryout research on how to find opportunity for new market / product, exploring the needs of the emerging and niche market customers etc. and strategize the findings for execution / realization.
As career path or prospects, a Designer with this Specialization can reach up to the level of General Manager (Design), Chief Designer or even Senior Vice President (Business Design or Design Strategy).
