Master of Design (M.Des) User Interaction and Experience Design
This new-age PG Program in User Interaction & Experience Design would address at the user interaction & experience Design needs of the upcoming and to-be-innovated digital and interactive physical products and systems (including those which are IoT and AI enabled) – platforms ranging from mobile, web based, to gaming, education, healthcare, transportation, banking, retail and other domains (including smart homes and industrial settings).
This program will take the students through the concepts, theories, practices and processes, which are applied to make various user-friendly modes of Interaction. The students will gain relevant knowledge and will go through practice-based learning enabling them to effectively design range of interaction / interactive platforms using various digital / interactive physical media for a range of target audiences and applications.
Duration of Study: 2 Years (4 semesters)
Ability to conceptualize, visualize and make digital or interactive physical prototypes by way of applying relevant design process, which begins with research for generating insights regarding user needs, conceptualities, contexts etc. and moves on towards prototype design developments.
Eligibility
- Candidates must have passed a 4-year Degree Program with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Mechanical Engineering, Computer science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, MBBS or any other relevant stream and should have studied English as a mandatory course.
- Candidates must have secured a rank in CEED conducted by IDC of IIT- Bombay or should have a valid score in JET EXAM conducted by Jain University.
Most IT Companies and a large number of Start-ups who into such kinds of business models would offer such Designers with opportunities mainly in designing the business strategy of new products and processes, Business process redesign – basically, to carryout research on how to find opportunity for new market / product, exploring the needs of the emerging and niche market customers etc. and strategize the findings for execution / realization.
As career path or prospects, a Designer with this Specialization can reach up to the level of General Manager (Design), Chief Designer or even Senior Vice President (Business Design or Design Strategy).
