Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Chemistry
The M.Phil. Degree shall have the status of an intermediate Degree between the first Post-Graduate Degree and the Doctorate Degree. It will have both research and course components and will give the student adequate background for advanced research.
M.Phil (Chemistry) course helps to study fundamental chemical and physical properties and principles of their applications and transformations of the materials. Some of the major topics students can study are acid chemistry, base chemistry, chemical equilibrium, electrochemistry, ionic equilibrium, kinetics, elementary chemical thermodynamics, and basic quantitative chemical laboratory techniques.
Duration : One Year, 2 Semesters
Eligibility
Candidate should hold a Master’s Degree (from a recognized university) in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% (In the case of SC / ST candidates there will be a relaxation of 5%)Candidates who are qualified for CA or ACS or ICWA with basic degree are also eligible to register for M.Phil. in this categoryCandidates who have qualified for Master’s Degree prior to 1990 - 1991, with no less than 50% marks are also eligible to register for M.Phil. program
