Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) English
M.Phil. in English Literature is a research-based course which introduces an aspirant to nuances of research methodologies and intricacies in the field of English literature. This course is pursued by people desirous of a career as an academician. Master of Philosophy in English Literature is a research degree. The course is about focused study of branches of literature and helps in developing a critical view of works of literature.
The M.Phil. Degree shall have the status of an intermediate Degree between the first Post-Graduate Degree and the Doctorate Degree. It will have both research and course components and will give the student adequate background for advanced research.
Duration:1 Year 2 Semester
Eligibility
Candidate should hold a Master’s Degree (from a recognized university) in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% (In the case of SC / ST candidates there will be a relaxation of 5%)Candidates who are qualified for CA or ACS or ICWA with basic degree are also eligible to register for M.Phil. in this category Candidates who have qualified for Master’s Degree prior to 1990 - 1991, with no less than 50% marks are also eligible to register for M.Phil. program
