Course
The post-graduate curriculum of MPA in Dance (Bharatanatya) focuses on imparting theoretical knowledge by introducing various fields related to dance such as Indian Culture, Indian Aesthetics, Art History, Aspects of Indology, Literature, Sculptures, Manuscripts, Epigraphs, Traditional Dance Drama Theatres, Contemporary Classical Dance Forms, Folk Dance and Theatre Traditions, World Dance and Theatre Traditions and other resources such as fundamental concepts in Indian Music and aspects of proscenium stage. The practical knowledge focuses on the repertoire Bharatanatya classical dance form, with the emphasis on creating an awareness of the holistics of the aesthetics of Indian art. The discipline of Performing Arts is one of the most important fields of study in Humanities. The Department of Performing Arts established in the year 2009 at Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is engaged in preserving the traditions of performing arts by offering courses, researching and documenting along with imparting a holistic and specialized training. The Department currently offers a Postgraduate Program in Bharatanatya. In addition to these, M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses are offered as well. The vision of the department is to become an internationally renowned center for preserving, performing and propagating different performing traditions pertaining to art forms.

Eligibility
Minimum 8 years of training in Bharatanatya (for dance) along with a Bachelors Degree in any field.
