The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established during the inception of the institute in the year 2001 to produce competent engineers in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. At present, the intake is 120 students. The department offers undergraduate degree programs of B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The department has state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to infuse practical knowledge to the students on par with academic excellence. The department has excellent and consistent placement record and most of the students are placed in reputed organization.
For the faculty in the department of ECE, teaching is more of a passion than profession. We not only create well-educated students, but make them also acquire awareness about the changing world scenario in the field of electronics and communication engineering.
Electronics & Communication Engineering deals with the electronic devices, circuits, communication equipments like transmitter, receiver, integrated circuits (IC). It also deals with basic electronics, analog and digital transmission & reception of data, voice and video (Example AM, FM, DTH), microprocessors, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae and wave progression. It aims to deepen the knowledge and skills of the students on the basic concepts and theories that will equip them in their professional work involving analysis, systems implementation, operation, production, and maintenance of the various applications in the field of Electronics and Communications Engineering.
Eligibility
Admission to undergraduate programmes in engineering (B.E.) shall be open to candidates who have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th standard or equivalent examination recognized by AICTE and State Government with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Electronics / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study. Students must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC students of Karnataka only) in the optional subjects mentioned above.
